Also Rowan Atkinson as Mr Bean and Doctor Who. Absolute joy to watch.Rowan Atkinson as Blackadder, in all his incarnations.
I've been meaning to watch that for a while, but for some reason I can never get in the right mood. Maybe this weekend. If you haven't seen her in "Don't Look Up" then I recommend that you do. I can't remember her playing a similar character before.
It's definitely the sort of movie you want to be in a specific mood for. It's a rather dark comedy and both funny, and a bit depressing. I'd say the end is just about perfect, with the story they give us. Jennifer Lawrence is also excellent in it.I've been meaning to watch that for a while, but for some reason I can never get in the right mood. Maybe this weekend.
On topic, few people mentioned Karl Urban as Butcher, but Antony Starr as Homelander is at least as good as Urban if not better, IMO.
I thought of it as a star studded dud. A few good jokes in a sea of misses. Its not the worst way to kill a few hours (though not sure why it had to be that long?).It's definitely the sort of movie you want to be in a specific mood for. I tried watching it and had to stop after about 20-30 minutes. It's a subject I've always felt nervous about - not that it's particularly likely to happen, just that this is the worst possible time it could happen. A century ago it would've been over before we knew it was happening. A century from now it'd be a trivial issue to resolve. But just for now, our ability to detect such a threat outstrips our capability to avert it.It's definitely the sort of movie you want to be in a specific mood for. I quite like political satire and dark comedy, so it's right up my alley. Obviously YMMV.I tried watching it and had to stop after about 20-30 minutes. I think my issue is that all the political satire ive seen in the last few years is pretty shallow caricature stuff. I'd kill for another Dr Strangelove but alas...I quite like political satire and dark comedy, so it's right up my alley. Obviously YMMV.
Just to clarify, I didn't mean to suggest that it wasn't good. It was just a little too real for me, both in the subject matter and the way they were reacting in a crisis.I quite like political satire and dark comedy, so it's right up my alley. Obviously YMMV.
