If you haven't seen her in "Don't Look Up" then I recommend that you do. I can't remember her playing a similar character before.
I've been meaning to watch that for a while, but for some reason I can never get in the right mood. Maybe this weekend.

On topic, few people mentioned Karl Urban as Butcher, but Antony Starr as Homelander is at least as good as Urban if not better, IMO.

It's definitely the sort of movie you want to be in a specific mood for. It's a rather dark comedy and both funny, and a bit depressing. I'd say the end is just about perfect, with the story they give us. Jennifer Lawrence is also excellent in it.

I don't believe in the no-win scenario

I thought of it as a star studded dud. A few good jokes in a sea of misses. Its not the worst way to kill a few hours (though not sure why it had to be that long?).

I tried watching it and had to stop after about 20-30 minutes. It's a subject I've always felt nervous about - not that it's particularly likely to happen, just that this is the worst possible time it could happen. A century ago it would've been over before we knew it was happening. A century from now it'd be a trivial issue to resolve. But just for now, our ability to detect such a threat outstrips our capability to avert it.

I quite like political satire and dark comedy, so it's right up my alley. Obviously YMMV.

I think my issue is that all the political satire ive seen in the last few years is pretty shallow caricature stuff. I'd kill for another Dr Strangelove but alas...

Also, part of it is the streaming film template. Seems like the formula for streamers is to get the biggest names possible, cook up a half cocked idea, and just shoot the thing over a long weekend. "Oh a new NF/Hulu/Prime movie with Chris Evans!" and then nobody remembers it a week later.

Just to clarify, I didn't mean to suggest that it wasn't good. It was just a little too real for me, both in the subject matter and the way they were reacting in a crisis.
