What are the best games on the Gamecube?

With Gamecubes on sale for $100 right now (the whole $149 GCN and game deal) and Mario Kart: Super Dash coming up in the fall I think I'll pick one up. Zelda will be the game I get with the system, but what are the "best" games out there, of any genre?

I know Metroid Prime got rave reviews. What else?

Skies of Arcadia: Legends is a Dreamcast port, but it's still far and away the best RPG on the 'Cube (assuming you accept reality, and note the Zelda games are action/adventures, not RPGs).

Thanks guys. Does the Gamecube Skies of Arcadia have anything different than the DC version?

It includes everything from the DC version along with some minor graphical updates, a few gameplay tweaks (less random battles, for example), and a few new side quests.

I have Metroid Prime, Zelda, and Ikaruga and would suggest all of them.

Thanks Welverin. I did go ahead and pick up a 'Cube after work today, along with Zelda (free) and Skies of Arcadia. I was going to get Ikaruga instead of Skies, but they didn't have it.

The games I'm really looking forward to are Mario Kart, Soul Calibur II (though since I also have a PS2 I'll have to see which version is better) and the new Cube exclusive Final Fantasy. Those are all months away though.

Truthfully I don't even know what's coming out soon, other than Ape Escape 2 (PS2).

Oh, and despite thinking of it and it being one of the main things I wanted to mention I still forgot to mention the Tony Hawks Pro Skater games, if you haven't played one before get one. Of course now that I know you have a PS2 it's liklely you've at least tried one already.

Oh and you have to buy Metroid Prime, it's a law. Look it up if you don't believe me.

There really aren't any.

Soul Calibur II is coming in August but I'm not buy it for the Cube.

I'll just be using that time to finish off Zelda and Metroid.

When I pick up the Gameboy Player I'll probably be playing more Advance games like Golden Sun I & II than Cube games...
