What are you using from the Miniatures Handbook?

Just wondering what stuff people are using from this book.

I'm making use fo the War Hulk prestige class in my current campaign (actually available free at the WotC website). A player is playing the favored soul (now apparently availabe in the Complete Divine).

I havent' looked much at the spells and feats. Is anyone using much from those sections, or any other material?

G'day, John!

The Favoured Soul has been played in our alternate campaign, along with the Sudden Still Spell and Sudden Silent Spell feats. :)

I've used the Kruthiks in an adventure (a Tomb of the Cybermen-inspired adventure... ;)) and they worked well.

And I've got a young girl who really wants to play a Catfolk character in a game. :D

That's it for the RPG side of things so far.

Cheers!

In general, I've found the RPG section of the book to be extremely useful: it's almost 100% crunch, and the new stuff seems pretty solid, mechanically.

I've already used the marshall core class for several commander NPCs, and I've designed some half-troll ogre war hulk troops to plague my players. The Tactical Soldier is also good.

There are several spells I like quite a bit, and just about all of the feats. I've given several NPC spellcasters the sudden metamagic feats, and the party's bard is looking closely at taking some of the Charisma-based feats like Daunting Presence.

And there are a few monsters I really want to use soon. There /must/ be a way to justify having an Aspect of Orcus showing up in a future game . . .

Don't let him fool you, he has a huge room dedicated to his OD&D stuff along with a shrine to Gary!

shhhh.... it is a dark cubbyhole in my attic. really. i do have a little side room with my OD&D stuff too. but unlike the 2000ed and 3.11ed for workgroups stuff, my OD&D stuff gets use almost everyday. :D

diaglo may not admit it, but I had to miss our last session (Mother's Day and my son's 2d birthday) and he ran my half-orc barbarian/fighter/rogue/tactical soldier for me.

Before the Mini Handbook came out, I was tempted by the idea of a Devoted Defender, but did not really like the mechanics of the class. Although the name is different, Tactical Soldier does many of the same things but with more effective and reasonable mechanics.

Literally nothing.

Some of the PrCs looked interesting and may see use yet. I am not as down on the war hulk as I once was.

Some creatures look interesting, but too many of them look like background-lite versions of existing creatures stripped down to fit a lower level game (as commonly represented by the minis game, which seems to reflect levels 10 and below). Which is okay if you are playing a low level game, but I find books with a bit more (dare I say it) fluff to build ideas around a bit more to my liking.
