I found out recently that The Warriors is based on a Greek play by Xenophon called Anabasis about Greek mercenaries who had to fight their way out of the Persian Empire when Cyrus the Younger is killed while trying to take the throne.

Not a play, but Xenophon's account of the actual march of the Ten Thousand that he was on.

"Tanka" is the correct way.
