What can overcome Shadow Blend

there's nothing in Shadow Blend to say that these spells won't stick to them, just that they won't overcome the concealment factor.
Yes, but glitterdust also don't alter the fact he has total concealment. Glitterdust essentially works vs invisibility because it is giving the target a -40 to hide checks. In the middle of combat invisibility only gives a +20 to hide, so the foe is basically at -20 to hide while glitterdusted, but he could still hide (if he had something to hide behind.)

As you said, glitterdust won't overcome the "concealment factor." Because the shadow creature still has total concealment, he can hide, and he can auto-succeed at that hide check, making the -40 to Hide irrelevant.

Faerie Fire I think might work, as it does mention that concealment doesn't work (except higher-level magical darkness effects). Depends if the Shadow Blend is a darkness effect or not. I can see a strong case for it not being one.

Concealment gives two major advantages.

1) Opponents can't tell where you are, as in, which square or squares you are in.
2) Even when opponents find your general location, they suffer major miss chances when they try to hit you with anything.

I'd argue that Glitterdust would negate advantage 1, but not 2. That is, it will reveal the target's location, but not their position (as in, physical pose).

But ultimately it's up the individual DM.

If you find Shadow Blend is too much for your players/PCs to deal with, consider a stricter rules interpretation. Let's look at the text again:

Shadow Blend (Su)

In any condition of illumination other than full daylight, a shadow mastiff can disappear into the shadows, giving it total concealment. Artificial illumination, even a light or continual flame spell, does not negate this ability. A daylight spell, however, will.

Supernatural Abilities (Su)

Supernatural abilities are magical and go away in an antimagic fieldhttp://www.d20srd.org/srd/specialAbilities.htm#antimagic but are not subject to spell resistance, counterspells, or to being dispelled by dispel magichttp://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/dispelMagic.htm. Using a supernatural ability is a standard actionhttp://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/actionsInCombat.htm#standardActions unless noted otherwise. Supernatural abilities may have a use limit or be usable at will, just like spell-like abilitieshttp://www.d20srd.org/srd/specialAbilities.htm#spellLikeAbilities. However, supernatural abilities do not provoke attacks of opportunityhttp://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/attacksOfOpportunity.htm and never require Concentrationhttp://www.d20srd.org/srd/skills/concentration.htm checks. Unless otherwise noted, a supernatural ability has an effective caster level equal to the creature’s Hit Dice. The saving throwhttp://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/combatStatistics.htm#savingThrows (if any) against a supernatural ability is:
10 + ½ the creature’s HD + the creature’s ability modifier (usually Charisma).

So by my interpretation, using Shadow Blend is a standard action. That would mean it functions a lot like having Invisibility at will, but is harder to defeat. However, the Shadow Blend writeup doesn't specify how long the total concealment granted by the ability lasts. So that's basically up to you: when does the monster come out of hiding? When it does anything but stand still? When it attacks? On its next turn? Or, on the other extreme, never until it comes into full daylight (or a daylight spell) again? Looking at the rules for concealment doesn't help either.

Depending how hard you want to make it on your players/PCs, you are free to choose whichever interpretation you like, as far as I can see.
