The poll includes the standard classes and a few extras, but I was curious what non-standard classes exist in other people's campaigns?

I realize the poll may not reveal much, but I put it up anyway.

I'm assuming a usual quasi-medieval european campaign, not an oriental or other campaign.

I'm sorry I didn't put an 'other' category. Please post so if you have a class not listed above.

I allow all the PHB core classes save the monk (at present -- doesn't fit into the continent in use at this time, and there's not a lot of travelling between continents going on as yet). However, I'm using Green Ronin's holy warrior variant (from the Book of the Righteous) instead of paladin. Not that it matters, no one's playing one.

I use Barbarian, Fighter (both core and Dex based), Rogue, Scorcerer, Cleric, Shaman, Artisan (Expert) and Aristocrat but all greatly altered for a more 'primitive' feel (setting is Mythic Polynesia)

added a Mariner (alt-Sea Ranger) and a Navigator core class
Have Paladin-type (Spirit Champion) as a PrC and a Whalerider PrC

Races are Human, half-elf and half-orc (both of which are considered 'Human'), Gnome, Goblin and maybe Half-giant (if I can get one thats 'balanced')

My campaign is pseudo-historical, set in dark ages Europe. I allow all the standard PH classes with the following exceptions:

The Monk is called a Pankrationist, a Greek martial artist. The oriental weapons have been dropped in favor of gauntlets, daggars and short swords. "Ki" strike is called "Pneuma" strike, with other naming changes.

The wizard has been dropped and replaced with an alchemist class. The alchemist idea fits the setting much better, and sorcerers are still an option. The alchemist is a homebrew class, with typical features as you would expect.

I've added the Rune Mage from Spells & Magic by Bastion Press. Only dwarves can take the class, and dwarves cannot have any other spellcasting class (due to their wierd background in my game).

Finally, I've added "The Medium," another home brew class. Basically, it's someone who deals with spirits; in concept, like a lot of the shaman or witch classes written. However, I wanted to allow for a kind of city based, Gypsy-like, crystal ball peering, fortune telling characters as well.

I generally allow all core classes, but some restrictions are the norm depending on the campaign. One campaign is very low-magic, so the monk would be overpowered for a PC. (The Sorcerer-Monks of Shar make for good villains though.)

In another, all clerics have to follow a god of the official pantheon of Mulhorand, for both balancing as well as flavor reasons.

I allow any class they want (so long as they can show it to me and I approve), and then go and screw the character over in hideous fashion. Let's just say class and race aren't all that defines my campaign's PCs...

D00d! You included the shaman, but left out the samurai!

(Don't let all that stuff 'n nonsense about daishos and daimyos [D&D] fool you. The samurai is really just a knight in disguise, with some setting-specific frills. There's no reason it wouldn't fit into a non-Oriental setting.)

After thinking about restricting I figured that if players can come up with a viable story Ill allow any and all characters.

The viable story is the important bit!!

Everything in the PHB, save the Paladin, which I plan to do as a prestige class if it ever comes up.

Also, Monte's Freeby alternate ranger, Ken Hood's Bush Fighter. After the discussion in another thread, I am lifting the multi-class restriction on the monk.

I'm also considering adding in the various spellcasters from Elements of Magic.

Hong, I tried to click that 'knight' link you posted, but it didn't work. Can you post the class here?
