I saw Batman on Sat and I was blown away. After seeing it, one of the first questions that started to get tossed aroudnd by my friends and I was what did we like better, Batman or Ep3. Now I really liked SW but I can honestly say it's a tough call between the two. Maybe it's just because I had minimal expectations going into Batman so as long as they did a decent job with it, I would enjoy it.

As I state in my This Weekend at the Box Office thread:

http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=136770

I seem to compare movies to the last movie I went, so here is my ranking of the movies I have seen so far THIS YEAR. This is personal taste and this list will change as movies come out.

1. Mr & Mrs Smith
2. Batman Begins
3. Star Wars - RotS
4. Sin City
5. The Hitchhiker’s Guide
6. The Pacifier
7. Sahara
8. Constantine
9. Kingdom of Heaven

For me Batman Begins was better because of dialog and character devolopment.

I think I'll give the edge ever so slightly to Batman. I liked Star Wars quite a bit, and it was a tremendous improvement over the last two Star Wars flicks, but it still had some of their weaknesses.

Wow, so far I'm the lone Sith fanboy. Batman Begins was excellent, but Revenge of the Sith was one of the top movie going experiences of my life. So much Star Wars awesomeness. Both films did a masterful job at presenting the subject matter but at the end of the day watching Anakin become Vader and fight Obi-Wan over that lava after all these years is much more thrilling than watching Bruce Wayne become Batman and fight Scarecrow over Gotham. Kudos to Nolan and the best Batflick ever, but if both films come out on DVD the same day I know which one is going into my player the second I get home, and it isn't Batman. :)

Batman Begins was an excellent retelling of the story, it was cool, fun and had some great lines in it.

SW ep3 was a decent SW movie. It was far superior to the Ep 1 and 2 but not quite as good as ep4-6.

Having finally been taken to Ep 3 (against my will, I might add), I will say that it was better than expected but in no way made up for the hash Lucas has made of the franchise in general.

Conversely, having gone to Batman Begins, I will say that this film is on par with the first Batman film (well, the second, if you are counting the Adam West version) -- dark, brooding, action filled, good one-liners, tense, and utterly breathed new life into the series. I am hopeful for future Batman films because of this one. :)

As points of comparision:

On rottentomatoes.com
Batman Begins has received an overall "Fresh" rating of 83%, 7.7/10 after 180 reviews.
Revenge of the Sith has received an overall "Fresh" rating of 82%, 7.3/10 after 183 reviews.

On imdb.com, the average user rating for
Batman Begins is 8.5/10 after 19,289 votes
Revenge of the Sith is 7.9/10 after 55,229 votes.

Don't worry, Kai. You aren't the only person here who voted for Revenge of the Sith. Batman Begins was very cool, but like yourself, I rank Revenge of the Sith as one of the top moviegoing expiriences of my life. If Revenge of the Sith is indeed the final Star Wars movie ever, then the series definately went out on a high note, because to me RotS is tied with ESB as the best of the Star Wars movies. I can't wait until this November so that I can complete my Star Wars DVD collection. :)
