I will be playing a bard soon, and in the homebrew world of our DM I think bards just tell stories or sing short limericks with no musical instruments. It will be interesting to be in a fight with a bard that reads poetry and chants more like a gregorian priest than a bard. Can't wait to try it though, and I already have a bunch of lyrics pulled together from various tunes and famous speeches to see if the other players recognize them, with the homebrew world details inserted.

Where did you get that insipid idea? Hell, I gave the pc's an additional +2 morale bonus to attacks and damage when they went into combat with "The Power of Thy Sword" raging in the background....

And I was joking about the ska. What I really needed was a seperate category for Progressive metal. After all, what good is a bard who doesn't have any Staind in his repretore?

That's a good bard. Staind sucks. Angcuru and RakeRon know why, that's all I'm saying. Listening to Staind still brings back horrible flashbacks.

Their rendition of "The Elf-Knight" is the best I've heard, though Lisa Theriot does a good one too called "Lady Isabel and the Elf Knight".

On a related note, I know grown men who will shudder and cringe at hearing that song from 'Pinochio' ever since my DM's Ravenloft game from several years back.
