What does this party need?

I'm playing in a PBEM and my halfling bard just died. Again. I got him raised once before, but doing it twice is starting to feel pretty cheesy. So it's new PC time for me. The party is sixth level and the DM has a reasonably liberal book policy and we're based in a version of Freeport adapted to FR.

Here's the party:
Ceila, Female Strongheart Halfling Evoker
Evan, Male Yaun-Ti Tainted Ghostwise Halfling Rogue
Hialmar, Male Illuskan Human Barbarian
Jarrod, Male Human Cleric/Wizard (Mystra)
Morray, Female Half-Elf Ranger
Nev, Male Strongheart Halfling Sorcerer
Nularna, Female Mulan Human Conjurer/Monk
Shandra, Female Human Cleric/Ranger (Shaundakul)
Telmissa, Female Wood Elf Ranger Cohort
Vartamil, Male Elf Fighter/Rogue

I would like to create something that would help out in an area the party's lacking, but I'm not seeing any clear gaps. Anyone have any ideas? I prefer to play halflings, but would consider other races in the event of a neat idea.

With that many players, a support role might be the best bet. The best support character is the bard, but you just lost that one. How about a monk? He's sneaky enough to scout with the rogues and rangers, strong enough to help the warriors with taking down bad guys, and with his mobility and saves he's great for dealing with NPC spellcasters.
