What's the point of changing the lore? I'm rarely beholden 100% to lore, and I recognize there might be good reasons to change it, but in this particular case what would we be trying to accomplish?
Well (hopefully not to bore you) I like adding details to ancient history. But as a part of world building I also look for patterns or things that seem to "click" together.
My homebrew has been running with modifications here and there, then and now, since about 1986 consistently. and I basically have a major theme, but kit bash or pick and choose parts from anything that sounds interesting. Every so often I do a review to see if its "coherent". I had a lot of redundant gods for example, and the cmapigh world is better themed for reducing them some (Although, like Basic Immortals, there's still a lot).
cut out a bit about how the history builds up to current times and gives me a perspective of depth i can use to create adventures
To the Point: "what are we trying to accomplish?"
Where the Vaati originated from in the Mythic History, and if as the progenitors of the jinn (or the ancient version of noble genies) do they fit into the story coherently (I got vaati, i got elementals, I got jinn, primordials, etc,)? OR is this just a mess.
I just dont know from the inside looking out if there is anything totally contradictory about the idea that I'm missing, or rough points I would have to smooth I haven't thought about.
