What is it that makes you do that voodoo that you do so well?

In other words: What do you do for a living (I thought the title was catchier ;))?

Just got interested seeing the stats in the "How much do you make?" poll.

I work as a trainer for a law firm. We have offices in 16 cities and I travel to them from time to time. Among other things, I train people how to use computers, the Microsoft Office package, firm specific software, and litigation support programs like CompuLaw's Vision. I love my job and have been here about a year and a half. :)

I buy part modules for an OEM that makes large, complicated machinery (cars and trucks.) I can truthfully say that I've saved my company millions of dollars and earned my salary back many times over. ;)

Currently, though, I took a temporary assignment to assist our I.T. arm in working on development of systems that the Purchasing department uses. I've been in that for about a year, and I've probably got about a year to go before I have to put my nose back to the grindstone and do some real work again for a change. :)

Tech support for a textile company. Vaguely like the army, in that it's hours of boredom interspersed with seconds of sheer, stark terror. :D

I work for an insurance company. I write the policies, after the underwriters determine how much they're going to cost and what benefit will be included. I have to know a lot about how we pay claims, and what the state and federal insurance regulations are that pertain to our part of the industry. I find it really interesting. There's always something new to learn.

I work for a business forms printing company. I draw and/or manipulate supplied art files so that our production department can run the forms on our presses.
