What is your favorite D&D monster?

I'm orc'd out and just finished a long Lizardfolk story which makes me tired of them. The most dangerous has to be a Kender in a Wizard's lab. But seriously-

Ogres are high, Mind Flayers are popular and I like Lich and vampires

Based on fun factor- Darksun's Tembos. Mean, nasty, crafty, CE psionics, deflection and really nasty up close in melee also. The best- they rarely attack the same way twice. They always garner the PCs highest respect. And they are only a level 5.

Dragons, because they're majestic, powerful and everything they do is an event. A dragon flies by out hunting for food, it's an event. Running dragons in combat is certainly fun and fighting against them, well, that's pretty good too. Adventurers scramble around their entire careers picking up +5 uberswords and orbs of killing every mutha in the room, becoming legends, and then an ancient dragon with ten names crawls out of its hole, dusts itself off and slaughters them. Dragons are great!

If I had to pick a type of dragon I'd say blue, because they can burrow, imitate voices and lightning is one of the neatest breath types. Some of the others like gas and antiethical energy (?) are not that dramatic, and fire feels too generic.

That would only count as favorite pre-3e monster(or Diaglo Edition, of course) since Humans aren't in the 3e or 3.5e Monster Manual :p
You haven't seen the Ooze version, have you?

I like robotic constructs. They just look neat. I like using Dire Animals and Kobolds too, though.

How could I forget!?! The Blast Puppy from Chaosium's All the World's Monsters. It was "broken" back in 1977 when it was published, and old-school wonkiness at it's wonkiest, but man, my cousin dropped one on us one time, and it was one of the most memorable D&D sessions I ever had. It's not strictly D&D, but man, it was fun.
