What is your favorite prestige class? (Added results so far)

I never move, Toril moves under me. I have learned to control its movements (fast movement and Dimension Door). My control extends to the 3rd dimension, as I can throw Toril away from me (Leap of the Clouds), and delay its inevitiable return (slow fall). I have mastered disease and poison, neutralizing those that contact me. My control of the Weave forces magic to stop at my skin (SR), and breaks down others defenses (Ki Strike). I have mastered all these forces, time and space, magic, chemicals, now I turn my mind to light and dark.

Soon I will cloak myself in darkness, blinding the sight of others. And my own eyes will penetrate the shadows. I will channel my control of space thru the shadows I control, and move myself at will.

It all fits.

Maybe you guys can help me here - but I hate the shadowdancer class. From what I can see, there's no flavor or roleplaying aspect at all. He's a guy that can hide really good. I don't know anything about them, or what role they might fill, or how one might act. I'm stunned that so many like it for the role play aspects where I see none. Its about as bland and lifeless as the Mystic Theurge.

Both the Hospitaler and the Templar always seemed cool, though we've House Ruled them to also provide +1 level of arcane spellcasting class each level to make them a little more playable.

Is anyone else a little surprised to see mostly WotC's PrC making the "favorites list"?

I thought about some of my other favorites -- iaijutsu master (OA), lightbearer (Dragon #285), oozemaster (MotW), techsmith (F&P), archmage (FRCS) and soul knife (PsiHB) -- and was sort of surprised that they were all WotC PrCs. (I've got plenty of third party d20 stuff, so it's not just a case of only having WotC material to look at.)

Chainmail Bikini Games has a paladin sourcebook, Call of Duty, and it has a pretty cool PrC that bards easily qualify for: Seelie Knight. You've been accepted by the Pixie Queen as one of her knights. You get cool pixie powers, and you're embroiled in pixie politics. In fact at 3rd level, one of your "powers" is Court Intrigue.

It's got a lot of style.

Glad you like it. That's actually one of my favorites, and I didn't write it. It's Bryon Dahlgren's work.

My favorite is the devoted defender, (although my house rule is that another devoted defender cannot be your charge). I love any prestige class that promotes teamwork between the PCs.

Red Wizard.

One of my players has one...and while the damned thing sometimes makes me sob behind my screen, even I have to admire it's raw potential for fun (and abuse).

My favorite part about the class is that I'm able to introduce NPC Red Wizards who can't wait to ensnare the PC into their byzantine plots.

He will be mine, I swear it!
