I said dining room...usually has a good size gaming surface and enough seating...provided you can get people to leave you alone while you play.

Too bad I hadn't seen this sooner. I'd definitely vote for the dedicated basement room, but part of me knows that gaming in a sufficiently-sized bedroom can actually work quite well.

I'd like a dedicated room, but it doesn't have to be in a basement. Not that I have such a room, mind you.

Right now we game in our dining room or my friend's ceramics studio.

I didn't vote because none of the choices really fit me.

I would like to have a dedicated gaming room (or two) decorated in themes that matched my game. If I ever have the money to live in a bigger place, with at least two extra rooms, I think it would be great to have a totally Fantasy themed room. Dragon skulls on the wall, Unicorn statues, Gargoyes, wall sconces, very castle-like. A Fireplace would be nice. The other room would be an "Adventurer's Room" (Those of you who've been lucky enough to visit the Adventurer's Club in Disney World might know what I mean).

Basically it would be a room that would be covered , wall to wall in "stuff". Some of it fantasy, some of it ancient history. Originally I just wanted to have an Egypt room with all of my ancient Egyptian stuff in it, but I think a mish mosh of various ancient artifacts (or replicas) would be equally cool.

I didn't select gaming room in a basement, because I just could not imagine putting this stuff in a basement...But if that was my only option for a game room, then sure.

Currently I play in a small dining room, and it's a little too small.

When I DM, I DM in a basement. The basement isn't finished, but it's all wide open. We have between 7 and 12 players at any given time and really need the room.

Ideally, I'd build a small second house on my property. Basically, a small kitchen with a bathroom off the side, a small bedroom in the back, and the rest of the main floor would be a huge gaming area. But, that's never gonna happen (oh wait, there's a lottery drawing tonight . . . ).
