D&D 5E What level did your MOST RECENT campaign get to?

Level 7. But it had slow advancement and retread some ground when the PCs hit level 5, three quit in a short period (two moved and one got a job that prevented her from continuing) and three new players were added at level 3 for their PCs. The entire campaign lasted 18 months and was incredibly fun.

Currently, we are finishing Tomb of Annihilation and players are at 10th level now. Depending on how things work out, they may get to 11th.

After this, I’m going to begin a new campaign from level 1, probably based on Hoard of the Dragon Queen.

Finished Elemental Evil storyline a few months ago at level 14. The book ended up at level 12/13 and we had a few more adventures after to tie up some things. It ended right before they opened the marid bottle to deal with a wish.

Currently playing a modified Essentials Box Set with the PCs about to hit 5th level.

  • A Bloodborne based online campaign just ended and reached 17
  • Tomb of Annihilation 13
  • Kingmaker reached 9
  • Descent into Avernus reached 12

They are the most recent 3

Before that there was Curse of Strahd 12, Skull and Shackles 11, Carrion Crown 15, Serpants Skull 14, Way of the Wicked 18. Plus a fair few one offs.

I reckon 13th level is the sweet spot.

Our last completed game was my 4e campaign, which ended in the mid-20s for the pcs. (Different pcs were different levels; I want to say they ranged between about 22 and 26.)

Before that was my 3e game, which ended with pcs in the high 30s? Maybe even one or two at or slightly above 40th level. There were also a couple of games I was in that completed during the 3e years; one was about 16th level when we finished up, and the other one had at least one pc at 19th.

(edit: this is for the GLOG). For campaign I'm a player in, I'm level 9 in a PF game and level 6 in a 5e game

As a DM, I ended my last campaign at level 8. It was based in Saltmarsh, focusing on the original trilogy of adventures. The story had reached its natural conclusion, and while I could have continued running it, I decided to take a hiatus instead.

As a player, we're currently level 16 having concluded the main adventure of Avernus. We've returned to the Realms and the DM has added additional stuff based on our backgrounds and histories to give a greater sense of closure. Likely it will end at levels 17-18, but it might go all the way to 20.

Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal
Last finished campaign as a player - 13th (Avernus)
Campaign on hiatus - 12th (Ancient Greek homebrew, "Vesta")
Current campaign - 7th (Strahd)
Last finished campaign as a DM - all the way. (10th, int he 10 level 13th Age d20 system)

Hiya!

That'd be about 6th; highest PC was 7th (only one), then one 6th, and two 5th and two 4th (I think that was it...pretty close anyway). It was so far to date, the highest level PC's we've had since starting 5e back in 2014.

Just reached 4th level in a campaign set in Exandria a century before Vox Machina.
The game I was playing in the DM couldn't keep his story straight so I ran my game to explain why my character was banished from Exandria.
He liked it so much he decided to port it over despite the fact that doesn't work and once he confirmed what he was doing I quit the group.
No point wasting my time when he clearly didn't give a damn.
Sorry that still annoys the hell out of me I'm not saying I didn't make mistakes but that as far as I'm concerned was a step too far.

A lot of '13th level' finishes here.

Levels 14-20 go past in a flash. Around 2 sessions each. A particularly challenging session can get you an entire level, and a session with a lot of talking increases the number by 1.

If you've gone that high, literally 14 more sessions get you to 20th.

At the risk of derailing: I don't quite understand what happened. Can you explain?
