Ok, assume that all (or most, since we're realists) bugs are fixed in E-Tools.

Assume that they introduce a system to add templates nicely.

Assume that they put out a complete system for adding prestige classes, custom base classes, and so on (including the +1 spellcaster level).

Now, what do you want to see next for E-Tools?

You can select multiple choices!

(Unfortunately, I would also say "assume a random char generator", but I hadn't realized that it only loads pregen chars, so it will have to go in the poll).

For 3 years now, all I've really wanted is a good combat manager program. No one makes one that's easier to use than an excel spreadsheet, currently.

I need a program to track ACs, spell conditions, hit points, modifications, and the like. Ideally, I'd like something that gave me some flexibility (marking who's flatfooted, for example) and would have quick references (such as being able to pull up information about grappling or dispelling, the two things my group seems to have trouble remembering).

A wizard to ease creation of random tables would be nice, too.

Well, none of these fit my bill, so IF they fix all the problems including Templates and Prestige Classes, I would most want a DMs utility to add in the creation and management of a campaign.

To keep it realistic, I wouldn't necessarily want them to add entirely new features that aren't related to current functionality.

I just want eTools to be a fully robust Character and Monster Generator (it has a ways to go). In addition to representing all core rules it should not contain info from splat books, but instead should just contain a thorough framework for intorducing custom content (which may include splat book data).

I voted for a combat manager, but honestly I think that DMGenie is going to fill that role quite nicely for me.

Well, you're the only one who's ever come even close to making a combat manager that was useful to me (and it was pretty good...but it kept crashing on my laptop :(). If DM Genie might scratch that itch, then I'm definitely interested in it. But wasn't that the one that got slapped down for OGL violations, or am I thinking of something else?

it did get initially slapped, but the developer then refixed everything for OGL compliance, and now it's smooth sailing. I highly suggest checking it out, it's $30 but with a 60 day trial so you can see if it's something you like.

I've kind of given up on doing something myself, I just don't have the time to put into a project of that magnitude (12,000 other things to do). The developer of DMGenie, because he's making money on the project, has more time and interest in continuing changes, and takes most of the suggestions that are sent his way which is really great.

I just glanced at the website. It looks NICE. It's exactly what I've been looking for. I'm going to test it tonight, and if it works for me, then it's a sure sell. :)

Template functionality followed by the ability to add new classes and prestige classes.

While I agree with the above ideas, there are those, such as myself, that would see that more as something that should already be in the program, not as a future add-on.
As for features that should be added quickly, I would say official support on the Psionics Handbook, the Epic Rules book, and perhaps the splat books, since there are some features in those that require something within the code, namely the added spellcaster levels for the prestige classes.
Apart from those, and Pale's ideas, that's all I can suggest at this time.
