What the heck is Lucas thinking?!

What Lucas meant to say was "the origional movies will not be released on DVD till there is enough outcry and demand that I can sell them in a huge overpriced box set and thus make even more millions, and they will be packaged with my proper versions too." Lucas firmly believes in the Special Editions but he also firmly believes in marketing. I figure one day we will see a super deluxe all encompassing every version of every Star Wars movie in every format Box set, all for the low price of a million-zillion dollars, but it will be the only way to get the origional movies so it will sell like crazy.

Either way, no matter what I say now I'll be buying whatever Lucas feeds me as far as the original trilogy goes on DVD. I am weak. But I will protest as much as I can. :D

If your weak for buying them in protest and I want both versions, what does that say about me?

That makes two of us. Which line?

What the heck is the DC on that roll!!!

*wolf fails his roll too, which suprises him as he's got quite a few ranks in it  *

I would not fret over it, there is still no release date of ANY form of the Trilogy. Lucus , or Jackass as I will refer to him from now on, said he wanted to add all sorts of goodies for the fans. The thing Jackass does not know is, we just really want to see the movies. He already had boat loads of boring interviews and how the film got made. Put that crap on the DVD and just release it. That stupid Jackass.

I gave away my old VHS copies when I bought my DVD player. I did not know at the time that Fox and Jackass were anti purchasing DVD and were trying to develope a different pay-per-view version of DVDs. I am glad they both got burned. And while I am ranting where's Raiders of the Lost Frigin Arc?

If you got a DVD recorder and the right hardware to connect the VCR to your computer (with DVD burner) or directly to the DVD recorder, make the copies for your own personal use.

Good idea, but wait a few years for the DVD recorder. If you can't wait that long, wait until at least the 3rd generation, there are supposed to be some major improvments in the equipment.

Heheh, good point. I want both version as well. There are strengths to both. But I want the originals, too. That is important to me a fan. Like I mentioned above, I think the same thing will happen that happened with the E.T. DVD's.

I know Lucas has said that the SE versions how he wanted it the first time. But it would be great to have both.

It would seem that he can... ;)

So someone spill it! What's the line Mouse mentioned? I can only assume that everyone who has posted and avoided the subject simply doesn't know... :p
