What's in your OGC future?

What do you plan on releasing as OGC in the future?

Myself, I'm working on an adaptable systemless setting in a encyclopedia-style format. I'm also planning on eventually putting out the TRAP system, and possibly a GMless card-based story game.

Alright, I'll bite. With any luck this thread will remain flame-free -- help me out here with this, folks.

Ryan, what leads you to consider releasing a systemless setting under the OGC and not, say, Creative Commons or some other license? I'm just curious, really.

Actually, I'll be releasing under both licenses simultaneously. I.E. the document will be released twice at the same time:

Creative Commons-Attribution (this is NOT a sharealike / noncommercial license, this doesn't restrict use, just requires credit be given)

OGL 100% OGC

I thought the creative commons license was a non-commercial license?

That's an option you can tack on, but it's not necessary.

Not being an expert, I had heard that the CC licenses are really not worth very much, from a legal standpoint. Is there any reason to think that's true? Have these licenses ever been tested in a court of law?

There's a lot of debate, so I intend to use both so people can choose which one they want. Since we're talking about Attribution (citing sources, giving credit where credit is due) there's not a lot to "take to court" about.

CC-Attribution is like waving a big flag saying "You can use this however you want, just give me credit!"

I release stuff that's almost all OGC all the time, like my recent Modern20 PDF.

If you're asking about the "far future" of 8 months from now and 4e, that depends on what the new OGL ends up looking like more than anything.

But in general, I'm a big believer in the OGL. In Modern20, the only thing we declared PI was the name.

I know some companies are worried about "poaching", and thus crippled their OGC (especially early on) but it hasn't ever really happened in a way that I considered troubling.

Mostly for reasons of pride. There's not really enough money at stake to attempt to rip something off, so why not try and prove that you can do it better?

I have noticed a lack of artwork/maps that are OGC so I wanted to fix that by creating and releasing some artwork and/or maps for people to use. I may be incorrect but there isn't hardly any.
