What's the big deal about gnomes not being in the PHB? **Edited for adversarial tone*

What's with all the hub-hub about Gnomes?

Isn't this sort of a provocative question to anchor an entire thread? I mean, there's really no good reason to ask, "Why Are Certain People Upset?" They're upset because they're upset. And they've probably explained why in the original thread already.

So I don't understand why you would ask this question. Seems like you're just trying to mix up trouble, or gather people to point fingers at other people.

Maybe, just maybe, the individual wants someone to explain the issue in a rational and reasonable manner, because the old thread was full of a lot of snark and anger.

"Can someone explain to me why people are mad that gnomes are removed, when they're in the MM and such" is a reasonable question to ask.

That wouldn't make sense, though, when this thread starts off snarky itself. The OP's choice of words and attitude is very denigrating and dismissive.

For me, the no respect to traditions may be a good thing...

Peoples who have at least no links, nothing who stop them to make needed but unpopular or 'sacrilegous' changes.

So when you said "I don't understand why you would ask this question", you meant "I don't understand why you, Gundark, have phrased your question in the manner you did"?

In any case, the strength of an opinion should not be measured by its popularity.

Actually, this is EXACTLY the time when the value of an opinion should be measured by its popularity. Between "what races should be in the PHB," and "who should be president," I'm not sure if you can come up with a better time for deciding things based on popularity.

Is it really necessary to denigrate people because you disagree with their opinions or to decide they're not really upset about a given issue, but are just making up something to be upset about?

This is a pretty crappy way to behave, guys.

I agree wholeheartedly.

This comes across as pretty high-handed, although I'm sure you didn't mean it that way.

My Apologies to any I might have offended. I intended no fight or anything with this thread. My wife was rushing me out the door to go to the mall for shopping (I hate the mall this time of year), thus I didn't have time to check my tone.

Good enough. :) Very nice of you.
(Just think about how you'll feel the next time someone asks why you make a "hubbub" or "big deal" over something you care about.)
