That's a big part of their schtick. ;)

There are heavy-duty homages to S1, S3 and B2 as well.

Hmm. I must not own the B2 homage.
I've run a group through the crypt of Srihoz and I've read the S3 homage... although I thought some of the S3 homage seemed a bit like John Carpenter's Thing (if we are thinking of the same adventure).

I guess you only put the ones on the list you own...

X10- red arrow, black shield is by far my favourite all time module. It's alos a sequel to X4 & X5

edit : Uriens beat me to it.
Yeah, the Desert Nomads is one of my favorites of all time, and I've played the X10 module before back in the early 90s. I have put off getting an electronic copy because I was holding out for an original hardcopy for my collection (those battle counters aren't as cool when printed out on cardstock.) But since you are the second person to mention it, I went ahead and downloaded the ESD. So what if I end up with two copies, right?

Converting the battle system to 4E would be rather challenging...how do you do it in such a way that you can still use the original battle counters that came with the module? And this is not the only module that uses mass combat; CM1: Test of the Warlords (another of my all-time favorites) is pretty heavy on the mass combat, also.

I could always just convert everything to the Chainmail rules, I suppose...I'm just not much of a Chainmail fan. There has to be an easier, cleaner way to do it.

What - no luv for the Bloodstone series?!? The Throne of Bloodstone was one of my all-time favorite 1e meatgrinders!

I don't think they should do any of the old modules, again. Come up with some new classics, instead.
And I'm sure they will. If past experience has taught us anything, it is that remakes of old modules (Return to the Keep on the Borderlands, Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil, etc.,) just aren't big sellers. People tend to hate them, in fact.

But I'm not selling or remaking anything. :) I am just planning on converting the game mechanics of a handful of these modules to the 4E rules. When I've done a few of the most popular ones, and as soon as I am legally able to do so, I'll share them.

Right now (10-22), it looks like the top choices are:

Temple of Elemental Evil (64)
The Keep on the Borderlands (59)
Scourge of the Slave Lords (49)
Queen of the Spiders (49)
Isle of Dread (47)
Tomb of Horrors (47)

It's more or less what I expected. I thought "Isle of Dread" and "Castle Amber" would have done better, though.

I would like to see Castle Amber, but I imagine that Isle of Dread wasn't suggested ranked as high because Savage Tide AP spent a lot of time there (and I even think there was a Dungeon Adventure prior to that.)

I'm not sure how you would do Tomb of Horrors any justice in a system that doesn't allow for save or die effects. . . or die no save effects for that matter.

Even though I've been DMing for about 20 years, I have yet to actually use a pre-written module/adventure, but I sure do like reading them (I have all the old classics).

My vote went to Palace of the Silver Princess for reasons to long to go into.
