Which miniature company do you think does an awesome job?

See, I'm looking to get a miniature to represent my new cleric. I've checked out Reaper, but I'm not sure what other quality miniature companies there are.

There are two English companies that I really love:

The Foundry

http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/main.asp

Gripping Beast

http://www.grippingbeast.com/

Both have superb miniatures of very high quality, but they are more historically based than necessarily fantasy. Then again, I prefer figures where it looks like the character could actually pick up their sword, so I am probably not the best person to talk to in this regard.

That being said, Reaper does a good job in the fantasy bracket -- nice detailing.

While most of my experience is with Reaper's I must say I like their work. Wide selection and nice looking figures has been the norm for me.

Hi,

My favourite miniatures are Rackham's Confrontation & Ragnarok figures. However, for a D&D cleric you'll probably be best off with Reaper who also make very good minis.

Cheers

In terms of quality, I would pick Reaper. In terms of cost, I would pick the plastic D&D minis line.

I still buy my NPCs and unique baddies from Reaper but I've stopped buying "common" monsters from them and have moved over to the D&D minis; it's just far more economical to buy 20 plastic goblins for under $5 than pay 5-10 times that amount for metals. It's kinda a shame b/c I saw some cool-looking beetles from Reaper (of which there is no D&D equivalent as yet) but wasn't prepared to shell out $5 for two little things when I know the D&D line will put them out sometime in the near future and I can get ten times that many for the same price.

Another Reaper & Rackham fan here.

Iron Wind/Ral Partha is another excellent source.

If you can find them, the last run of Chainmail Minis (the game that became D&D Miniatures) had some good figs in them.

As for clerics in particular, what's your style?

Militant clerics/Paladins abound in the Confrontation line. You may also find something in WarGods.

Reaper's line has more of the contemplative types than most lines.
