I really liked the mid-early 80s, when you had both BECMI and AD&D 1st. They were different enough to have a different flavor, but not so different that you couldn't easily use modules/products from one to the other.

I would like 3rd edition, but I do think 4e had some good things going for it, like making sure every class had some various at-will actions to do all the time instead of the basic 'I attack' every single round. Although I'm sure there's a few things they could pick up from previous editions as well [I always liked Kits from 2e, and Pathfinder seems to have sorta done this already]. Admittedly though, this is starting to look like the stuff I've been working on homebrewing, so I'm not sure how much I'd actually need a new edition, but this is sorta what my ideal game would look like...

I voted 4th, but I would have liked to voted 3.5 AND 4.0 as that`s where WOTC`s current market is. I think.

I really have no need for this product, so what I want is irrelevant.
