I just had the horrible revelation that the WB Batman cartoon--the iconic one, with Kevin Conroy as Batman--is almost twenty years old!

This is a good thing. The test of time has not diminished our recognition of the iconic Batman.

I too saw Star Wars first time round, and having turned over another year last weekend I've been finding this sort of thought popping up all too often of late. Most recent two were on hearing the announcement of the death of Dio, that Holy Diver was recorded 27 years ago. And this:
