Does it matter to you what you are playing? Really?
Yup. I do not like playing games where you kill people with guns. I guess its irrational, but I find them highly distasteful, even compared to doing the same with swords. So I won't play FPSes, gun-slinging RPGs, etc. Doesn't mean those games aren't great fun for others though :)

Ohhhhhhh...you added a poll! Never mind my first post then; I wasn't answering the question you wanted, I just answered the open-ended question in your first post

To do that: I'll play most systems or styles, which is closest to playing mosy systems or styles, so I picked that.

Would you like to play Synibarr?

I would not play Synibarr, Clay.
I would not, could not play Synibarr, no way!

Would you, could you play it in a house?

ok, you get the idea.

Yea, I think system matters for me. Probably creation rules, house rules, etc, matter less, though they can be obnoxious if they aren't well thought-through.

I haven't come across any White Wolf game I like. I have no desire to play "lethal" or "one-shot" style games like CoC. The point of Paranoia is kind of lost on me. Earlier editions of D&D kind of grate on my nerves, since I find them so restrictive.

In general, I love to try games I've not played before.

I'm not a big fan of diceless/storytelling RPGs. Would have strong reservations about playing any more of those. Did get burned by a couple of godawful GMs/Campaigns, so I'm not entirely objective about it.

Other than that, I'll play most settings and systems. There a few I don't like playing with specific GMs, but got nothing against the systems in general.

As for style: Not a big fan of really lethal or gritty games, but will play them with the right GM. Generally I prefer games that have some player usable mystical/psycic/magical angle to them, but it's not a requirement.

You give me a good group of ROLE-players and I will DM anything and everything.

You give me a good group of GAMERS and I will DM almost anything.

You give me a group of people and I will DM only a few systems.

:D It is the best I can do.

At the moment only d20 D&D and I'm happy with it. Don't really have a desire to play enything beyond the fantasy realm, although having said that I would like to give the d20 Star Wars a try. Other than D&D and Star Wars, I don't really care for anything else. If I do like a particular fantasy setting, I'll just convert it to a system a like, which is d20. :)

I will play most systems - once. Unless I have heard nothing but bad things about a particular system I will try it. Even if I have heard awful reviews and such i probably still would try any given system. I can't really judge a system until I've rolled dice on it's books. :)

If D&D disappeared off the face of the planet, I would probably go out of my way to learn a new game; and if I did learn a new game I would probably do my best to round up a group of players who also wanted to play that game.

But fortunately, D&D isn't disappearing any time soon (as far as I can tell), so that's what I play and I don't feel the need to go out looking for anything else when I'm getting what I want from what I have.

So ... I picked "will only play a few systems" because that seemed closest to my opinion.
