Well, I have an idea, probably stupid, but what some of us wouldn't do to procrastinate 10 minutes more! 
Here is my idea of a contest on the messageboards. This is extremely easy to participate in:
That is: when you notice a thread you suspect has good chances of being closed, you immediately post something in it! . Preferably you don't enter the offensive subject, but just state you must post before the thread is closed.
You get more points if you are among the first contestants (not regular poster who actually answer to the thread) to post, and if the thread is closed very quickly. So calculations are based on: the number of times you successfully played (i.e.: did post in a thread that was closed, stating you foresee it being closed) versus number of closed threads in which you were not fast and clever enough to play. Then, your rank of post in the length of the closed thread. There is also a ratio based on the hour of post, astrological influences, and if Enworld was excrutiatingly slow at that time, plus something else I forgot. Well, lets not waste our time with too much rules anyway, as this is supposed to be a rule-lite game.
So: ready to spot and post?
(Of course moderators cannot play in this game since they could easily cheat.)
