I do not currently subscribe, but I am considering changing that. I have a few reasons for this, and I offer this up as constructive criticism.

In the past, I didn’t subscribe as I wasn’t into what was being offered in return. One of the reasons to subscribe was to gain additional forum functions. Some of it makes sense, like a custom user title. Still, other parts don’t make sense, in particular the private message and search functions. These are items that any other forum offers for free. In a sense, I feel like I’m not being given full forum functionality when advertisers already help to support the site financially. My recommendation here would be to allow the search and PM functions for free to everyone and to focus on your other “rewards” programs.

Another reason I didn’t subscribe in the past was that I felt the moderation wasn’t quite up to par. EN World has been referred to by some as “Extremely Negative World.” I have to admit, though, that the quality of moderation has increased quite a bit, so I’m glad to see that.

Where you are doing really good right now is in giving fans a “reward” for their subscription. War of the Burning Sky is a great reward idea, and though I’ve purchased it already, I’d be interested in the 4e version. Space Fight also looks fun. Reminds me of what I was trying to accomplish with the SciFi Smackdown podcast.

My advice is to keep making the “rewards” worth our while. Focus on what you can give fans back in return for their support, above and beyond the basic community. Keep producing that exclusive content, and I think you will have more subscribers.

One of the ways that EN World really shined in the past was in terms of news. Oftentimes, I would find out news at EN World prior to anywhere else. News updates aren’t as frequent as they used to be. I still find out things here that I don’t hear anywhere else. So maybe a stronger focus on news would help out too.

I appreciate all that EN World has done and for being a source of information and entertainment for me for all these years. Again, this is all meant as constructive criticism. Take care, and keep those dice rolling.

Community Support.

This site is absolutely integral to the roleplaying I do, it's as simple as that. It's a constant source of inspiration. I've paid on more than one occasion to keep it going, and I'd do so again.

This is pretty much me. I have been a supporter almost my entire time here and even with an old username I had back in 2001 that I had forgotten about.

I use the search features a bit, but mostly I just browse the forums. The discussions are great, the rule forums and clarifications are awesome for my game.

[sidenote]

The reviews during the 3e era were awesome and I regularly bought based upon those reviews, but those days are gone (for the most part) as 3PP support is waning for 4e and the DDI is too valuable as a DM tool. If there were 3PP support for DDI tools (like CB and Monster Builder) I would start buying again.

I chose community support, but I do not really use ENWorld any longer. I just want to continue to support the site because Circvs Maximvs is tied to ENWorld.

I voted Community Support.

I simply wanted to give something back.

I happen to be unemployed and living from paycheck to paycheck right now via my VA Disability. Still, for $3.00 per month, I can afford to throw in my 3 coppers, and it just makes me feel better by doing so. D&D is indeed a big part of my life and has been since I was 18 (I'm now 46).

Of course, War of the Burning Sky is a huge benefit, but I did it for the community.

The reason I have not bought a community support account, again, I did have one for two years in the past, is that I buy a lot of PDF's now a days, and I know I give more to ENWorld that way than I would via a $3 a month account.

So whenever I see PDF's I want I go via the ENWorld link to RPGNow and put it in my cart. I typically by an average of $60 per month in various PDF's. So until that average goes down below $30 I won't be buying a support account.

Some of the freebies you offer are of interest, but since 3E and 4E are no longer my primary systems of choice, still not enough.

Now if ENWorld become the home of ALL D&D and solicited such materials from the "old school" companies out there, such as OSRIC, Goblinoid Games, Troll Lords Games, Fight On!, etc... then such benefits would likely become much more appealing to me.

Or if you could get other companies, like Green Ronin, Kenzer, and other companies who do RPG's similar to various editions of D&D, I would be more interested in that regard as well.
