This may be a strange question to some of you ... but I have been wondering why many of you post in here? (Not a criticism, more of a curiosity.)
For myself, I find that I just like gamers. I am one, I grew up as one (began playing in 1979) and enjoy speaking to people who read the same things and have a similiar set of "background material" ... and yet remaining so diverse too!
Took me a long, long time before I could ever put a "handle" on my ... err ... cultural subset or whatever you want to call it. An (unexpected!) trip to the first GenCon held in Indianapolis served as the catalyst for this....
Also, where do you post most frequently?
For example, I like to post in the Non RPG Forums of Computer/Technology, this forum (the off-topic), and in the Media Lounge.
In the RPG Forums I like to post in the General section and infrequently wander into the DnD Rules and the d20 System forums. I am not much of a "rules specialist" but like to see what others say about things. I also like to see what is going on in the d20 publishing world, being partial to the products put out by Goodman Games, for example.
In the Gaming Action Forums I like to read the Story Hour every now and again and the Playing the Game Forums too, primarily the latter as some of my old friends from back in upstate NY post a few threads throught there and I like to see what they are up to!
