Why ever make an elemental burst weapon?

In fact, I read that a while ago and I've also reported myself--before your threat.

Damn, I missed all the spittin' and fightin'!

On topic, I think the burst properties are slightly underpowered. I'd say upping the bonus damage on a crit by +1d10 in all cases would make 'em pretty well balanced (though I'm not doing any math to confirm this- just gut instinct). It would also make it easier to track how many d10s to roll- a number equal to your crit multiplier (rather than your multiplier -1).

Another possible fix would be to increase the +1d6 on all attacks to a d10 instead- so that your flaming burst longsword always did more damage than a simple flaming longsword.

Just a few thoughts- it isn't a problem in need of fixing bad enough to house rule it in my considered opinion. But if anyone would care to do the math on my suggestions, I'd be interested to see the results. :)
