I played DND ever sence second edition I was thrilled when 3rd came out and 3.5 I spent so much money on books. I was in my own little happy land, but all good things have to come to a end my world came crashing down once I saw 4th edition at first I thought it was wizards pulling a prank. I thought no no they would not ruin a perfectly good system but alas I was wrong. Depression hit me hard then cause everybody was hopping on the new edition band wagon in my area. I would stare at my books and I swear I felt a tear creep up in my eyes. And then I went to madisons geek con. (mmmmmmmm geek con) and I played pathfinder. once again I could feel the happyness rise in me. And then I was told that all my books would not go to waist cause the editions are so samilar. I was hooked right away I ordered the phg and the beast book right away and I invited my clostest friends to join in my campain. Right away they loved it we had a Grand Time with a huge bondfire throwing away there 4rh edition books and celebrated the glory of pathfinder. And this is why I play pathfinder

Your story is more dramatic than mine. But the feeling is similar. I was pretty unhappy with 4E. It felt like a betrayal of epic proportions aftering playing the game since 1979 or so. Pathfinder renewed my commitment to D&D.

It's the type of company D&D should be run by: small and independent. With a strong creative core of gamers who love the game uninfluenced by a large corporation.

Glad someone stepped into offer an alternative to 4E that I can enjoy. Almost stopped gaming because of how much I disliked 4E. If it wasn't for Pathfinder, I doubt I even still game.

It cleaned up the 3.5 system nicely. And still kept all the traditional elements of D&D I love, especially the interesting magic system.

Glad someone else was able to keep their love of D&D alive with the Pathfinder system. That's a major reason I think the founders of the company created Pathfinder. They were in the same boat as all of us when Wizards tried to force a new system down our throats and call it D&D.

Glad to hear some fellow Wisconsinites that went through pretty much what my friends and I went through! Long live Pathfinder!

I hear yea I tried to be a player in 4th I hate being one of those guys who is a hater with out even trying it I played a good month I was a monk in 4th ed. I just did not feel the dnd spirt I know that sounds silly but good ole 3rd and pathfinder has a feeling to it you gather around the table you make a char and you know your going to have fun. When I played 4th I made the char but it was like the char was empty a hollow shell I tried rping with it but you can only do so much with 4th edition.

I'm running Pathfinder adventures in 4e. Those who tell you things like "You can only do so much with 4th edition," are full of it.

How about praising something you enjoy without celebrating your hate for something others enjoy? Burning your 4e books in a bonfire? Sad.
