Throw in Islam, Judaism, Zorostarianism(sp), Paganism,Wicca and the various other sects and minor orders that existed well - its DnD Polytheism with gritty sociopolitical intrigue

But a D&D polytheism were faithful of Pelor would slaughter faithful of Heironeous or Elhonna; where clerics of Eldath would go on crusades to root out the infidels following Chauntea, etc.

Actually Drawmack is a name of a character from an underground magazine and therefor I have published proof of rights to the name. tthhpptt.

And I give it freely to the children of the world. I'm such a nice guy.

Now can we get back to the subject? Or at least does anyone know of a fantasy-India RPG? I know there was at least one treatment in a back issue of Dragon.

This is maybe OT, but when we are talking real world as a setting, does anyone know any good settings based around Middle east? I read a book on the Middle East between Muhammed the prophet and sultan Muhammed (the turk who conquered Konstantinopel) and was fascinated by the area at that time.

I found that (pseudo) historical games create one problem: At least one player starts spouting of "trivia" of the era in question.

That would be a problem with me as a player for just about anyone trying to present medieval Christianity. IME, most people only think they know what medieval Christianity was like, in terms of everything from common practice to canon law to doctrine. The inaccuracies, anachronisms, stereotypes, and flat-out falsehoods would drive me batty. :)
