Willow in Harry Potter

I was looking for an 80s TV show about a wizard that was set in modern times. I thought the actor who played Willow was the wizard, but couldn't remember. Anyway, when I looked up his Bio on imdb.com I found that he plays Professor Flitwick in the Harry Potter movies. I did not recognize him at all. I am going to have to rewatch one of them to see if I can see it now. Just thought that was really interesting.

Yep, I believe his name is Warwick Davis. He's the Charms professor...Wingardium Levioso (sp?). Also Wicket from Jedi and was in the box with Watto? (Anakins owner) in Phantom Menace.

Warwick Davis was not only Willow Ufgood but also that nasty little Leprechaun in all those movies with the same name.

I don't know what the tv series from the 1980s featured a modern-day wizard. The only show that instantly comes to my mind is Wizards & Warriors with Jeff Conway. Perhaps you are referring to The Wizard found at TV Tome.

David Rappaport (better known as Fatoomsph on the Young Ones. ) was the little person star of the show, not Davis.

FWIW If I remember correctly he wasn't a "wizard" in the magical sense, but more of a McGyver "make anything out of anything" tech type.

Oh, Davis in addition Filius Flitwick also plays the Goblin Bank Teller in HP&TSS.

Now if you are looking for a real wizard living in the modern world (well early 80's San Fransisco anyways) & starring in his own TV series, look no further than Mr. Merlin starring Barnard Hughes as the famous wizard Max (?!) Merlin.
