Here's a thread for the Manitobans in the hizzouse. I thought that we needed an off topic thread, so we can be, well you know.....off topic. If this isn't allowed, someone slap me. Otherwise come on over and say hi.

Non Manitobans are welcome, but keep in mind it gets awfully cold here eight months of the year.

First up, Devilbat, that me.

32, gaming since I was eighteen. I hate KeyCon, and I'm making my third trip to GenCon this summer. First in Indy though.

Also 32. Gaming since I was 11, though it was on and off until well into university. I currently run two games in the Osbourne Village area, an Eberron game that may end when one player moves to Edmonton shortly, and a Mystara game (but heavily AE-influenced) which is much more representative of what I want to be doing.

I have recently gone back to university after years of being a computer tech, because the latter caused alternate stretches of nearly dying of boredom and suffering moderately serious stress-related ailments, all of which have entirely disappeared since leaving that job. (Convergys sucks.) I am currently working on my Master's in philosophy and will probably be taking off in under two years to do my Ph.D in the States.

As DB and I have discussed in another thread, I'm not exactly a huge Keycon fan either. I doubt I'll even go this year, as I usually have a okay time at best and this year the SCA isn't even going to be there, removing several of my usual reasons for going. I've been to GenCon once, for the debut of 3E, and would like to go again.

There's a contingency from Winnipeg going this year. It's looking like four members of our group, plus a spouse, are headed up. I've been twice, and it's a blast. Although most of my fun involved partying, but the gaming was fun too.

No, I realized after making the post you're referring to that you couldn't possibly be the person I was thinking of. Plus, I lived in Edmonton until I was 12.

Tell me about it. Two weeks ago we were at +26, today +1 with a little snow. Good thing our housing is afordable. Glad to have you here in Peg City though.
