Yes, WorldCon is going to be a hoot. It'll be at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston.

Note though, that it ain't cheap. At this point a full membership costs a whopping $200. Daily passes run $50 for Thursday and Monday, $75 for Friday, and $80 for Saturday and Sunday.

However, this is WorldCon. The World Science Fiction Convention. Pretty undeniably the largest of it's kind. If you like reading Science Fiction, it's the con to go to. Program participants include (but are hardly limited to):

Brian Aldiss, Gregory Benford, Lois McMaster Bujold, Jack Chalker, John Clute, Gardner Dozois, Esther Friesner, Neil Gaiman, Craig Shaw Gardner, David Gerrold, Joe Haldeman, Harry Harrison, Katherine Kurtz, Ellen Kushner, George RR Martin, Terry Pratchett, Mike Resnick, Michael Swanwick, and Walter Jon Williams.

WorldCon - be there, or be square.

Boo YEAH!!

Last I checked, you could only buy admittance for the entire con and that was way to much money to spend when I could only make one or two days.

They now have single day prices!!! :D :D :D

Unfortunatly, I won't be there this year. WorldCons are the place to be if you are an SF fanatic. If you go, be sure to hit the art show. Unbelieveable artwork, and more of it than you'd ever imagine. And don't you dare miss the Hugo Awards presentation. It's only the most important SF/Fantasy award there is.

I'm helping run an agility dog show in Bedford that weekend -- AND I have a wedding to go to on Saturday, AND I have a friend in town from California. No Worldcon for me.
