"Escort us? ESCORT US?" If looks could kill Jain would be deader then the meat in the soup she was eating.

How Dare he? I am not a little doll that needs protecting. I can take care of myself, I am more capable of handling things then he is. Does he think an Aes Sedai needs a minder? I am almost an Aes Sedai, I don't need an escort anywhere. Its not really his fault though, I will be nice to him, he did teach me how to treat wounds after all, and he is not as bad as most men.

She closes her eyes and breaths in deeply before opening them again. "I will pretend that you did not say that we needed an escort to protect us. I will talk to Lila Sedai though and see if she would allow you to join us in some capacity. Don't worry, if nothing else comes along you can be one of my warders if you learn to swing a sword as well as you can flirt that is."

Jain knows her well enough to know she still hasn't forgiven the suggestion she needs an escort.

"Jain tell me about what you have been doing, I missed you while I was away. Don't tell me about Carheinen if you don't want to, just about whats new with you."

Pedron

Since the soldier fellow isn't saying anything else, Pedron's been trying to follow what the women have been saying.

<I'd hate to ask for another listen check, but whether or not Pedron overhears the words "White Tower" could have a considerable impact on his behavior.>

"Don't fume, I wasn't in the least bit serious about you needing an escourt. The fact of the matter is I don't have the first clue what I'm doing. I've been a drift since Cairhien, I thought I'd go back to Bearlon,but i have no place there now, not really. I even thgought about going back to shienar." He looks in to space and smiles at that thought.

"To be honest, the reason I came to Caemlyn, was to catch up with you. I felt bad about snubbing you in Aringill, I was just shocked to see you."He throws up his hands "I just don't know what to do!"

He smooths back his hair and chuckles.

At The Gambler's Table...

Hmmm...nice looking Domani lass. Perhaps she'd like to share a room. Lord Tomas strokes his goatee speculatively as he watches the new arrivals. He looks for any guards are men with them., but doesn't see any. Merchants without guards? Strange.

Then Lord Tomas sees Yuri's reaction (I assume). "Oh do cheer up, Master Yuri. What man hasn't been hurt by a woman?" Lord Tomas chuckles, "I believe the Creator made women as a cruel joke on us men. Pretty to look at until they open their mouths."

 

[Enforcer]

Hearing Tomas' drivel about women, Yuri only grunts. Right about now facing Trollocs would be better than dealing with Aes Sedai--or Accepted at any rate.

Pedron tries to listen in on the women's conversation, but they're too far away; the patrons around them are making too much noise.

Shalimar doesn't notice anyone trying to listen in; it wouldn't be easy for anyone. The patrons around them are hardly being quiet.

Pedron tries to listen in on the women's conversation, but they're too far away; the patrons around them are making too much noise.

Unable to hear anything, Pedron merely watches what looks to be a lover's quarrel, him apologizing, her taking offense at the apology. He shakes his head. The women he had grown up around might not be the sort most mothers would approve of, but at least they were straightforward. Both traits applied to his mother as well.

He looks around the room, trying to make sense of the tangle of people. He thinks he might be able to make sense of the Domani woman--she didn't dress like one, but who else had that coloring?--the Borderlander woman, and their Andoran companion, who must be the leader of their little merchant band. Even the Borderlander's Andoran "friend" fits in. However, what is their connection with the Borderlander soldier and his companions, a Tairen noble and an Ebou Dari who dresses like a mourner?

All in all, it makes for an interesting little tableau. Technically none of his business, but Pedron has long made a living off of other people's business--and property. He decides to keep an eye open, both on these folks and for anything else which may turn up. He takes a deep breath and thinks he catches a whiff of opportunity.

 

[Ashrem Bayle]

Sitting positioned so that he can observe the room, Ashrem studied the newcomers. Who are these people? Merchant's ladies? hmm.. It seems the shorter of the three knows Yuri.

Upon hearing Lord Tomas' insights on women he laughed quietly, something he hasn't done in a while. Ash decided that he was tired of worrying about the past and should look more to a brighter future. He was in Caemlyn after all, where else could you want to be?

He looked to Yuri. "Who are they? They look to be merchants' ladies, yet I see no escort." He smiled a bit and nodded to Lord Tomas. "And pretty too." Maybe one of them will dance with me, I could use a good distraction.
