There's something beautiful to all the people in this thread getting mad at Twitter, saying people there always throw up controversy, when this wasn't a real controversy, was corrected, and only a few people got mad.

But @Shardstone, Twitter is the villain in this piece! We have no need to think about ourselves!

(It is pretty funny though I agree. Twitter is the real villain often enough without us deciding it is when it isn't!)

YouTube is the secret villain behind Twitter dramas though, we can't acknowledge it, it won't be secret then!

So, we don't know the process behind the scenes. We don't know for sure what happened. We don't know why they did it - they have made no statement, so what we have on that are presumptions on our part.

It seems that less than a day passed before the issue was corrected, which is pretty responsive.

There's a likely scenario that someone clicked on the wrong filename, and either did not visually confirm, or missed the issue on that confirmation, before posting. Human error happens.

Well the picture on the card is the darker version. So that is clearly the intent. Someone just posted the wrong pic

I still think Twitter is worse then facebook, although twitch is the bowel movement because twitter might be the very heart of evil, but at least it works well at what it does.
