D&D 4E WotC guys - Playtesting 4E in Canada/outside the US?

My name is Tim, and I AM CANADIAN! (sorry, couldn't resist)

I, too want to playtest, but I don't think I'll get picked... not in the RPGA, and I only have a D&D Insider account so that I can check out the trial period to make my mind up about continuing to subscribe.

I just had a horrid thought - I'm Canadian!

... does that mean I won't be able to be a playtester?

Actually, my understanding is that 4e won't be compatible with the Canadian OS. You'll have to uninstall your citizenship and purchase an American brain to be able to play 4e.

Honestly, there might be legal reasons not to have foreign playtesters. If you break an NDA, it's much harder to prosecute in a foreign country.

Wish I were Canadian! Then it would be easier to stay here when my work permit expires! :D

Do playtesters get paid? That might just get my work permit all tangled up. Then again, I'm in the same boat as Timmundo:

How about being European? Will WotC be able to think outside the north american continent regarding playtesters?
As I recall, there were some playtesters outside of North America...

Actually, studies indicate that in a direct comparison to standardized benchmarks, the Canadian OS produces very favourable results compared to the American OS. I think you are confusing DnD with DND. However, I don't forsee the problems related to running the Arms & Equipment Guide add-on application being solved during this generation. ;)

Maybe, but I was a beta tester of Windows95 and quite a few closed Microsoft betas since then, so not everyone seems worried by the legal aspect.

Maybe MS legal uses a reach weapon.

Or because they have an overseas branch in Sweden... and many other countries. Hasbro as well, but I don't know how WotC handles it, especially because of the licensees of the translations.

But I'm still hoping! ;)

Cheers, LT.
