Why do you care? If money is all you love money is all you'll get.
Funny thing: the Beatles had strong opinions on money not being able to buy love, but they had little to say about the many things you can't spend love on. Once I'm able to sustain my earthly needs with nothing other than positive emotion, I'll stop putting so much emphasis on the pay part of an employment contract. Until then, food > love.

It's something you do for love, not money.
I'm pretty sure the execs at Hasbro do it for money, and they're not more important than the people who work for them. Everyone deserves to be compensated for the work they do. If you want high-quality products, monetary incentives induce people to make better stuff.

Regardless, people ought to know how much they're going to be paid when they apply for a job.

I bet the people who wrote the position description, and the people who approved the budget expenditure to create the position aren't expected to work for love.
I bet they make far less then their expertise and talent would command elsewhere.

"Fun" jobs rarely pay high because people do work in part for love and hygene factors are high in a position like RPG game designer. The reason people get paid more in other fields or jobs is because the work itself is less fulfilling or more stressful.

For example, take an RPG game designer and put him or her in a position producing propaganda for use in information warfare in a third world power struggle. Such a job sucks and is arguably immoral, but it would pay very well.
