Free advice: back sloooowly away from the Iron Heroes fans. Don't make any sudden moves and don't show any signs of panic.

Hey, who started the first Iron Heroes thread on this board, back when it was called Iron Lore?

And I'm telling ya...

:uhoh:

....doesn't that Ari make a great mouse vampire. Everyone loves blood sucking mice of the night. Right?

God, this is FourthBear. If you're listening, let there be more Al Qadim content coming. Those who do not see that it was the best damn setting ever made for D&D shall be cast into confusion and the righteous shall rejoice.

I would adore some Al-Qadim action in 4E too, but I want the sha'ir to retain all of its original and AWESOME flavor.

Best setting ever. (Although I'm pretty fond of Kara-Tur as well.)

I'd play 4E if they brought this gem back. I'd play Storyteller Revised, for that matter. Maybe even GURPS 4th edition... It's not like the game system had a darn thing to do with how awesome Al-Qadim was!

I'm already starting to think about running Al-Qadim as my 4e campaign. We'll have to cobble together a Shai'ir once the rules come out. I'm sure the enterprising posters of ENWorld will be up to the task. :D

I want in!

The Sha'ir mechanics I think are the real weak spot. I think I would prefer a sha'ir that kept the flavor but without a class subsystem.

Oh this makes me shiver. Can Mystara come back too. Then Spelljammer and Planescape. Well I doubt Planescape since Wizards destroyed it. However, please help Mystara next oh I love this setting and the Mouse is on it Thank you.

Mystara and Hollow World ahhh... never had the chance to adventure there but would love to.

Wow, I had no idea Al-Qadim was a worthwhile setting.

I guess the problem with 2e's various campaign worlds isn't that they weren't awesome, but that they fragmented gamers. Toward the end of 3e, we saw a new way to deal with that: use the settings for big adventures. But what if they took that idea to the next level?

I think it would be the most amazing thing in the world to have a complete Adventure Path that sent PCs on a tour of the various abandoned campaign settings. There's got to be a (non-lame) way to weave together a story of heroes from various worlds racing to save the multiverse. You could even include a couple of iconic classes from the campaign worlds that demand them.

It would be hard to do right, but it sure would be fun if they pulled it off...
