I have to think though, this really all seems rather academic (and i say this as the first person in this thread to grizzle about his Str score!) What sort of actual real-life FR game actually uses Zaknafein's stats? Main two possibilities i can see are huge Salvatore fans who'll get a thrill about having their PCs meet the guy (but who are unlikely to fight him), and rabid Drizzt haters who will expressly seek him out for metagaming reasons just to kill him while cackling gleefully (like so many people did with Drizzt in the original Baldur's Gate game). Which ... well whatever guys, it's your game, it doesn't strike me as a particularly mature attitude, but you do you.
The arguments about stats of novel characters really seems like the superhero fan arguments about whether Superman or the Hulk is stronger, for instance. I mean, it can be a fun nerdy diversion, but even in the scope of the hobby, how often is it going to matter?
