[YAELHT*] What are you going to do with the ELH?

I'll just crank my campaigns volume up to .. 11! :D

No big or drastic changes. The campaign will go on as long as it has enough steam. PCs are now at level 18, and very excited about the book. I have no need to make the game more political or such - when I asked my players what they'd like to do after the next adventure, the just wanted to find ability raising books.

This far the game has run smoothly with only minor modifications (my only house rule being that arrows and bow don't stack), and I expect that to continue for at least 10 levels more.

I plan on using the ELH with Deities and Demigods to create some truly invincible and viscious gods for my world's Cosmology.

Just because they're deities and have a Divine rank doesn't mean they can't be damn good at what they do as well.

I'm in a role-playing club with some 80 memebers, and we have 8 campaigns taking place on the same planet (mine being a Planescape campaign, thus taking care of 'the rest'), with trade, plots and global events affecting all the campaigns.

Twice a month, the GM's of these groups meet and play the champions of the gods and being sent to various hot-spot situations. Next month, I'm sending an ECL 21 group into a fortress assault on the negative material plane, end the ELH is just perfect for those final feats of the 44 HD insane Solar who owns the fortress...:D

My campaign was started a few months ago with the ELH, the D&DG and the (hopefully soon to be released) Immortals Handbook in mind.

The world is in a post-Ragnorak state with there being no evidence of Gods still alive (or at least involved with this world). It involves a BirthRight like set of rules for domain actions and building up contacts and power for the PCs.

The plan is for the PCs to continue this progression, as they grow in power both personally (levels) and through their holdings. They will slowly become epic heroes, which leads to followers/worshippers which will lead to Deityhood.

At least, that's the plan.

Leave it on the shelf.

Seriously, after reading a few reviews I'm rapidly coming to the opinion that Fantasy Hero would do the same thing much better, and that 3E is a great low- to mid-level game but doesn't scale too well into high levels. I will flip through it when I get the chance and see for myself, but at this point the Silver Marches look far more interesting (and I'm not even a FR user). Overall I think I've completed my D&D3 collection to my satisfaction with just the three core books + MoP + FRCS. (Speaking of which, I do like the epic rules in FRCS, so I think I'll just use those.)

Well right now I'm looking at from two perspectives, as a DM, I can finally write up the true epic npc's in my campaign world. Now as a player, since we'll be restarting our campaign that went on hiatus a few months back after we hit 20th (started from 1st, 2 months after the MM came out), it's time to start planning my advancement through the epic levels. :)

In 2e, I loved the High-Level Campaign book. I used it as the yardstick for high-level NPCS (21-30th range).

I'm still waiting for Amazon.com to send me my epic-level book, but I intent to use its 21-40th level basis (I've heard it scales infinitely, but I don't NEED 100th level characters anywhere) as the yardstick for high-level NPCs again.

In particular my namesake lich wizard, Rendarkin, is getting impatient to be defined for over 20th level. Nezra (female elven vampire high-level fighter/rogue) is also very impatiently waiting to be statted...

It's great to stat out our epic villains (and epic allies). Should my PCs ever make it past 20th level, I'll be using the ELH for them, too.

After, of course, my slew of Rule 0's... :D

I don't want to wear out my copy, so I will let my local hobby shop dealer keep my copy on the shelf...

Would it be too much to ask that if you don't have anything useful to contribute to the topic of the thread, you find a thread to post in that DOES fit what you want to say? This thread is for those people who do have enough imagination and perception to see ho how the ELH might be useful, rather than a whine fest for those who merely want to foist their loathing on the rest of us.

Thanks.
