Rettville's attack is slightly more effective than Kalath's and Kalath takes 3 hits from the rat man.

Furious at the failure of his phoenix move, Kalath presses the attack on Rettville, putting his full power behind the blow!

Kalath kneels down.
"Poor, poor Rettville... only a garbageman. You choose the wrong fool to free your brother."
Taking out the vial of green liquid given to him by Wicht, Kalath does as Wicht commanded as feeds it to the dead Rettville. He then steps back, away from the corpse, and watches to see what effect it has.

The change happens slowly, but Kalath can stil make out that something is happening. The rat-mans fur becomes darker and the fangs become longer. The eyes on the corpse flutter slowly and the arms and legs twitch a bit. The rats enter the room once more and watch what is happening. They do not attack Kalath.
Finally the dead man sits up, looks languidly at Kalath and then licks his lips with a greenish tongue. The smarter rats flee the room. With a snarl the undead were-rat snatches up one of the remaining rats and biting off a good sized chunk of flesh, lets it go. The blood dribbles down its chin.

"Hmmm. Looks like I was right... Wicht has no compunction against taking those who served him in life and making them serve him better in undeath. I'll have to keep that in mind...."
After a sardonic bow to the new Rettville, Kalath leaves.
"Hmmm. But will Rettville as undead survive whatever destroyed those goblins?"
Kalath exits the caves and makes his way back to Wicht's Tomb and Willford.
