(YBA) Kalath in Wicht's Lair (continued)

[Wicht]

"Below the city are certain areas that do not answer to Wicht but if you go too low you will enter the very bowels of hell itself and you will perish. Everything above the city is under Wicht's protection."

 

[graydoom]

Kalath nods.

"I will try to avoid any conflict with those who are also under Wicht's protection."

"I assume there are connections and passages between the city and the levels below it?"

 

[Wicht]

"Yes there are connecting passages, though they may take some hunting on your part."

 

[graydoom]

"Thanks for the information."

Kalath leaves the tomb, and heads for the City of the Bard.

 

[Wicht]

Kalath heads toward the stairs leading down into the city, but as he approaches the tomb containing both the imps and the stairs, he sees a trio of men arguing with the door of the tomb.

Kalath approaches the three men, listening to what they are saying in their argument with the door.

 

[Wicht]

As kalath listens, it seems to him that the men are demanding entrance and the imps are refusing. The imps true to their nature are being highly insulting of the intelligence of the three men.

As Kalath observes the men he sees that they all sport leather armor and are armed.

"Foul Fiends of darkness! Open!" demands one of the men loudly.

"Go away you purple faced eater of other men's socks!" shrieks one of the imps and then breaks out into a fit of giggling.

 

[graydoom]

After coming close to the men and hearing the argument, Kalath chuckles.

"Having trouble, are we?"

 

[Wicht]

The men whirl at Kalath's approach and draw their weapons.

"Who are you?!" demands one of them, the same one that had just yelled at the imps. He is apparently something of a leader.

 

[graydoom]

"That's really none of your business... but I'll answer anyway. I am Kalath. And I would advise you to get out of the habit of demanding anything... it rarely works, and it can get you killed if you demand something of the wrong person."

"Now then, I have some questions of my own. Namely, who are you three, why are you in this cemetery, and why are you attempting to gain entrance to this tomb?"

"And please, answer quickly and truthfully. I don't have much patience left."
