Your favourite TV show and why?

Currently I'd have to say that The Colbert Report is my favourite TV show. It's half an hour on weeknights that I always end up laughing my ass off. No matter what else is going on in my life, I have that to look forward to. Every other show is hit or miss in roughly equal proportions but Colbert manages to make me laugh pretty much no matter what, even if it's US-centric humour.

What would you say is your favourite currently running TV show and why?

The X-Files.

Groundbreaking show where everything came together from the chemistry of the cast to the writing the directing and the special effects. They were one of the first shows to make a TV show as high quality as a film.

I often heard criticism about The X-Files films that they were like a really long episode. That criticism was more a testament to the quality of the TV show. It was like watching a film every week. One of the best shows to this day I've ever watched on television.

I'm not entirely certain I have an absolute favorite TV show. Not only is it dependent on my mood and genre interest, but a lot of shows have up and down periods.

If I had to choose one and only one, I'd probably go with NewsRadio.

Current? I was going to say firefly...

There are lots. I'm finding I'm liking some of the more esoteric reality TV shows like Dual Survival and Meteorite Men more and more.

but if I had to pick one, it'd be The Walking Dead.

Probably The Big Bang Theory, because sadly its very recognisable.

Futurama, it qualifies for current and all time favorite, with DS9.

A consistently entertaining and amusing show.

Doctor Who. There's no other show running that makes me giddy like that. It makes me feel like a little kid without making me feel childish.

Either Community, 30 Rock, or It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I like irreverent humor (Always Sunny), absurdity (30 Rock), and Community is just so well written and laced with outside references and subtle double-entendre that I find myself constantly in wonder how it stays on the air. It almost seems too smart and too self-aware to be on network television.

Oh, and A Game of Thrones. That's just good stuff right there.
