Your first character with a Prestige Class

My first prc was the 1e bard- you had to play a fighter who turned thief who turned to druid training, which made one a bard.

In 3e, I've almost exclusively dmed; but in the epic campaign I play in, I run Yolanda, a wizard/alienish/planeshifter (what a natural combo!) We started at 21st level, though, so it isn't like I worked my way up to the prcs...

Yolanda is, to the best of my recall, the only prc pc I've played since 3e started.

My first PrC was the Sacred Flame from Dragon Magazine,
the issue with Radiant Servant of Pelor and such...
( With errata, so no unlimited Burning Hands etc... )

She started as a cleric with the Magic and Fire domains in a
game that initially only had two players, with only one PC each.
So we both played something as flexible as possible. The other
player was a Druid. Lots of healing available. :-)

The first Third Edition character I played was a sorcerer/alienist; his backstory implied that his potential for magical aptitude - his parents were both lay devotees of Boccob - drew the attention of entities from the Far Realm, from whom he drew his sorcerous power. Eventually he found a cabal of mages who taught him how to contact them more directly . . .

One of my current PC's is a Sorcerer/Fatespinner. I had discussed it with my DM in advance and it seemed like a natural fit for this character. He always (nearly always) rolled well on saving throws so it was a good fit.
