Your Playing Group - Do You Like It?

Overall, how do you feel about your playing group. I hear people gushing about how great their players are, and I hear people complaining about how they suck the fun right out of the game.

How do YOU feel?

My group is the most irritating bunch of rules lawyers, munchkins, psychopaths and maniacs I've ever seen... However, the alternatives are even worse, and I'm convinced I'd lose my kneecaps if I kicked any of them from the game.

3 groups, All have different rankings. None from the gods. None bad enough to flee the country. So the center 3 options.

I've got a fantastic group of players (reliable, fun, prepared) and I'm a player in two really fun groups (great DM, good fellow players). I couldn't be happier about my gaming situation. And I'm joining another group that sounds like it will be a lot of fun (it'll be DM'd by one of my players and two other players from my group will be in this new group, plus 3 guys I've never met before).

Its never the whole group but unfortunately sometimes you have to take the good with the bad. How do you say "I want to play with your wife who is a great roleplayer, but I don't want to play with you because you spend the whole time arguing over EVERY SINGLE POINT so that nobody can do anything fun" and not have that person throw yet another fit.

And sometimes you just get stuck with players that have the IQ of blade of grass. esp when you're playing with strangers.

But you do get to meet those wonderful people who are great roleplayers, are fun and relaxed, and intelligent. Now if only I could find a good group that were made up completely of those people!

But alas...gotta take the good with the bad...

Each of my groups meets roughly 1 time per month, maybe a smidge more. So it's now working out to about one game a week.

Heh, I remember you commenting a while back in the chatroom about how you virtually never got to game anymore. I think you said it was because you had no time between work and running the site.

I find the mere fact that this poll was posted to be intriguing.

I don't think I've ever bothered with games with groups that weren't tons of fun for me. Have I just been lucky? Am I easy to please? Or do I just totally drop anything that doesn't meet my standards? Is it because I'm usually the dm? I've never given it any thought before.
