Rogue 4? No, rogue 3. You can even do it with ninja1/rogue1, but I like the evasion ability a lot, and giving up caster levels as a warlock doesn't mean as much.
The problem with having fewer rogue levels is that your skill bonuses suffer greatly with the Warlocks rather limited list. At any rate, the W6/R4 is intended to continue mainly as a Rogue and use the Warlock abilities as supplimentary (except the EB, which is his main weapon).

That is no problem. I love to have parties that can go on with on the adventure instead of sleeping since the wizard just used all the spells to fry a kobold commoner or something equally lame. :)

It's a problem if you're a DM and try to stick with the "use 20% of the parties resources per encounter" rule. Since none of the Warlock's resources would ever be used up, except of course HPs... and possibly food/water if you were on a really long quest.

Not to mention adding sneak attack damage to the Eldritch Blast.
Of course, every level you take in a sneak-attacking class is one less level you take in Warlock, thereby reducing the base damage of the Blast.

The same is true of fighters and rogues, though. It's not a problem for those classes, so why would it be a problem for the warlock?

Oh. well that's not an arcane trickster at all. Would the way the class is built allow for that PrC, or is it incompatible?

the problem is that Arcane Trickster requires mage hand and one spell of 3rd level or higher. So the Warlock, as written, cannot meet these requirements.

get a 'hand of the mage' and convince your dm that since your invocation counts as a 3rd level or higher spell then it should work ;)

...I was going for a catburgular archetype and not a specific PrC...

Oh yea, I knew I'd most likely have looked into that.
There's a feat that would allow you to cast mage hand, so all you'd have to do is get the invocation to count as an arcane spell... I think it might even say that it does. Now that I know of that printed feat I'll have to re-look that up.
