I don't get how fast you are supposed to level the PCs... i.e. when during the first level do the PCs become 2nd and then 3rd level? The chart the book refers to doesnt help me any.

Vault of Larin Karr is the -perfect- module for my style of DMing. My players are having a blast. Crucible of Freya is great too however, more for the setting it provides than the actual adventure (especially with the free download at the Necro website). Close third place goes to Tomb of Abysthor.

You might have more luck posting at the Necromancer Boards. They even have a seperate board for each module.

Trolls tend to show up frequently in modules by Necromancer Games, but usually as single monsters, not main parts of the plot.

I am using the alternate XP method in which you just give a set xp amount by the CR of the monster. A player was going to play a Battle Sorcerer but changed his mind, so we aren't using that. I am allowing the Traits options in a few cases.

I'm with both of you. I am about "crunched" out... Sort of along the lines of what Psion would say, how crunchy is it if you don't USE it. I think the fascination and awe caused by PrCs, Feats, Spells, new skill uses, etc. etc. is LONG past, at least for me. I don't know about the rest of you...
