    Blunder and Forced Movement

Can you point me to a specific rule that backs this up? My guess is that it just didn't occur to him. Heck, it didn't occur to me, either.

    Blunder and Forced Movement

That was my reasoning. However, my player argues that a slide of 0 squares is still a slide. As I said, I'm inclined to disagree, but if the RAW says otherwise I'd certainly like to know.

    Blunder and Forced Movement

One of my players and I are having a disagreement about forced movement, specifically as it applies to the bard power Blunder. My player wants to slide the the target 0 squares and just give his ally the free attack. Sliding 0 squares isn't a problem, as per the PHB: My inclination is to rule...

    Favourite fluff jobs

A druid in one of my games has Swarming Locusts but isn't a swarm-shifter. He's reskinned the power to one that looses his lupine beast form's teeth into a cloud of swarming fangs.

    King's Castle Effect

Wow. @_@ I also consider myself pretty familiar with the rules, and that was totally under my radar. Thanks, Whimsical.

    King's Castle Effect

I was beginning to think along those same lines myself. I think I have a good idea of how to handle this. Thanks for the timely responses. ^_^

    King's Castle Effect

That doesn't really answer the question at hand, though. Being grabbed means you're immobilized; being immobilized means you can't move, but you can teleport or be moved by a push, pull, or slide. If the king's castle switch is none of these, how does it interact with being immobilized?

    King's Castle Effect

The Effect line of King's Castle (rogue encounter attack 1) reads "switch places with a willing adjacent ally." Is this switch considered movement, a shift, forced movement, or none of the above? Most importanbtly, does it work if the rogue and/or his ally are grabbed?

    Defenders and Opportunity attacks

No. Both powers are immediate interrupts, so they use the warden's immediate action for the round. If they counted as opportunity attacks, their blocks would list them as "Opportunity Actions." Note that the term "one's 'Opportunity attack' for the round" isn't quite correct, as your...

    Race Elimination Round 1!

It has to be warforged for me. I like a lot of the more unusual races, since as a DM they add flavor to my campaign. But I have exactly zero use for warforged. If I want cyborgs, I'll play Shadowrun, thank you.

Monster bonus damage on multiple attacks?

If you're designing the monster, that decision is left entirely up to you. If you're asking about an existing monster, it gets the bonus damage of every attack for which it qualifies unless something in its writeup says otherwise.

    Healer's Lore and Healing Word

It's a cleric power, sure, but more importantly, it has the Healing keyword. It therefore benefits from Healer's Lore.

    Favourite Warlock Pact

I'm a dark pact fan myself. Properly utilized, darkspiral aura can be a very effective damage machine, and the powers have some excellent flavor (dealing some damage to your allies to improve your powers). The pact also works well with the Dark Fury feat, since so many of its powers deal...

A couple abilities in Martial Power seem WAY too good...

The fighter in my game did this - he wanted to respec his character, which I said was fine since he didn't like his old build. After taking 12 points of temporary HP damage (in other words, effectively shrugging off 12 points of damage) at level 2, we both realized how ridiculous the feature...

    Confused about holy symbols

If a cleric loses his magic holy symbol and finds it on the ground somewhere, he can pick it up and use it without having to put it on. If he's in combat, this can save him a valuable action. Generally, there's not much point in holding a holy symbol when you can just wear it, but the option...

To split or not to split

I would say no. Some other powers that can target multiple foes (such as a paladin's Arcing Smite) say "one or two creatures" on the Target line. Split the Tree has no such entry, which indicates to me that you have to have two targets. Your milage may vary, however.

Power-storing (eg: Armor of Exploits) questions

    1. Correct. 2. Correct. 3. I think that's correct by RAW, but you might check with your DM before pulling a stunt like that. 4. I suppose, although as you point out, that's very silly.

    Martial Power: Animal Commands Q.

Tale's right, and there's a very compelling reason that the rules work that way: economy of actions. basically, if you get more actions per round than somebody else (such as through an animal companion) you are almost always going to have a significant advantage over your fellows, and game...

    Ask Wizards Response for 12/22

Heck you can retrain out of Thievery AFTER taking the feat. You gain it from two sources; since you chose it as a warlock, you can train out of it as a warlock as well. This might come up if, for example, you want to take Sneak of Shadows and retrain one of your powers at the same level.

    Implement: Swordmage Warlock

No. The swordmage's implement entry states that the class can use light and heavy blades as implements for "swordmage powers with the implement keyword." You could, however, grab a pact blade, which by its nature can be used as an implement for both classes. EDIT: Curses, beaten! >_<
