Tylara shares what she has observed in the magical realm and then moves to the composite longbow. "This looks very interesting." She takes it up and examines it.

Composite Longbow

A plaque on the wall beside the composite longbow reads, "Never more shall Thelusious send his shafts." And Tylara also sees that there is a plaque on the wall next to each of the aforementioned weapons.

Huge Trunk, Huge Chest, Two Coffers

Inside the huge trunk are:

- an exquisite painting of a fairy landscape with a gold frame (estimated value, according to Cappy, "is a couple of thousand gp, maybe a bit more if we take it somewhere that we can sell it to a real merchant and not a fence.")
- a marble statue of a unicorn with diamonds in its eyes
- an exceptionally cunningly crafted goblet made of gold and set with rubies
- a velvet eyepatch set with emeralds (no doubt Larin Karr snatched this from the perhaps still-warm corpse of Freddie Mercury)
- a finely crafted gold comb shaped like a dragon with white fire opals in the handle (oddly enough, even though they are fire opals, the dragon seems to be of the white variety)
- a pearl choker with each of the pearls bearing a geometric scrimshaw design of some cunning, and
- a pair of ruby earrings that each appear to be capable of choking a good-sized cat.

Altogether, you estimate the contents of the trunk to be worth 15,000-18,000 gp on a bad day.

The Huge Chest holds:

- 25,000 gp
- 10,000 sp

the Two Coffers each contain:

- 250 gems worth 100 gp each

OOC: Transporting all of this, or even a good chunk of it, is going to present quite a challenge, but, hey, the gems are no trouble, and you can fill every nook and cranny with gold pieces, so you're going to be leaving with lots, even if you have to forsake some of it. On the other hand, if you ingenious little boogers scrape the place dry, then you should expect the taxman to come calling soon afterward, as well as a troop of folks from Quail Valley who can prove that "those are my granny's earrings and my uncle's codpiece."

The Vault of Larin Karr, Trasure Trove

The items that give a positive reading to Kerlan's spell are:

- The Square Box [moderate transmutation] [folding boat]
- The Bracers [moderate conjuration] [bracers of armor +2]
- The Bag [moderate conjuration] [bag of holding type II, 500 lbs., 70 cubic feet]
- The Necklace [moderate something - not sure, it's not in Pathfinder or 3.5 PH - say it's a strong blend of transmutation and conjuration] [Necklace of prayer beads - karma]
- The Boots [moderate transmutation] [winged boots]
- Pile of Cloth #1 [moderate transmutation] [druid's vestment]
- Pile of Cloth #2 [slightly less moderate transmutation] [cloak of charisma +2]
- Whatever is in the locked strongbox radiates strong transmutation [indeterminate reading/failure]
- The Bastard Sword has a nonspecific aura of respectably moderate strength [+3 bastard sword]
- The Composite Longbow has a nonspecific aura of somewhat more moderate strength [+2 mighty composite longbow (+4 max str)]
- The Full Plate Armor has a moderate aura of abjuration [+2 full plate]
- The Large steel Shield has a very healthily Moderate aura of abjuration [+3 large steel shield]

"OH . . . . . WOW !" is what Cappizzio says at first, at least until he is asked to assess values.

RE:

refresh my memory: who is Freddie Mercury?

Cappy tries to see if there is a trap o the locked box, then will try and unlock it

find traps:
1d20+25=45
yup! nat 20!
open locks, if there are no traps:
1d20+25=41

OOC: Google it, dude.

Cappy opens the locked strongbox that is not trapped. Inside is a huge garnet worth 20,000 gp! The gem is roughly circular, flat on one side, convex on the other, and about 3 inches in diameter. And, yes, it radiates strong transmutation magic.
