Kerlan spends several minutes thoroughly examining each of the items on the shelves. Some of them really perk his interest. "How fortuitous. A Bag of Holding. With this and our Haversacks, we should have no problems getting everything out of here. This box here actually unfolds into a boat on command. Fascinating. These boots also allow the user to Fly for short periods. Very handy indeed." He tells the others everything he has found.

"This Larin Karr fellow must have been quite successful in his day. If we are lucky we might be able to get enough to cover next semester's tuition. This little plaque with the bow makes it sound like a trophy of defeated foe." She moves to read more of them.

OOC: Google it, dude.

Oh, him. now I understand

Cappy opens the locked strongbox that is not trapped. Inside is a huge garnet worth 20,000 gp! The gem is roughly circular, flat on one side, convex on the other, and about 3 inches in diameter. And, yes, it radiates strong transmutation magic.

Along low long whistle from Cappizzio announces a probable outcome of seeing the contents of the strong box. "This thing has power, guys"

"Sounds like our host was not a nice fellow assuming he was the cause of death for the former owners of these goods." She considers the names carefully wondering if she might have heard something of them.

Cappizzio gets a look of suprise. It seems to never have occured to him as to how these artifacts got here.

"These need to be liberated from the depths of the earth for the armies of light!"

Tylara has indeed heard of all of the names mentioned. They all date from years ago, however, the oldest being from 150 years ago, and the most recent being from 4 years ago.

"Wait a minute, I've been thinking this place has sat idle for years, but that name, that person is only from about 4 years ago. Our host may still be lurking about." The hairs on the back of her neck stand up and she can't help but look behind nervously.

"4 years ago? Then whose ghost did we see out there with that ghost ship?"

OOC: Suddenly you have a sudden flashback that flashes before your eyes!

The very air in the passageway begins to waver and a great ship appears! Oddly enough, the ship appears to be sailing right along the passageway at approximately shoulder height. ... At the helm of the ship stands a one-eyed, one-legged, very bedraggled mariner whose manner of flamboyant dress, peg-leg, eyepatch, and tattoos fairly scream, "Pirate!" He also has long locks of wild, unkempt red hair. ... continues sailing down the passage for a few yards more before he melds into the wall and disappears.
Kerlan finds that the coil of parchment inside the scroll-case bears this writing:

"... Oh, one other thing - you were doubtless somewhat surprised to see my compatriot and friend, Captain Olaf Grimm plying the Ethereal Waterways in the tunnel with you. ...

pps- in case you still haven't reached this conclusion on your own, I am still very much alive, thanks!"
